BIG BIG BLOW FOR UNITED!

I was just about to post the preview for the friendly fixture tonight against Valencia when I read the news that EVDS will miss the start of the season after undergoing surgery on a finger. Medical reports suggest that the Dutchman broke a finger on his left hand after saving a penalty in the Audi Cup final.

It's gutting really especially since the Dutchman was instrumental in our wonderful defensive record last season. He will be sidelined for up to 8 weeks, meaning we'll not see him till October.
It's all doom and gloom as we have Ben Foster and TK to cover for him. These two understudies have now got their chance to show Fergie that they are ready as there are quite interesting ties before Edwin returns. It all serves to make Fergie's selection tonight and on Sunday more difficult. The last thing that United and their fans want is a slow start that has characterised the last two campaigns--and after writing off Liverpool already, Sir Alex will not want to eat his words as early as October.
