A KIND DRAW...... FOR NOW!

Thursday's UEFA Champions League group-stage draw pitted United against British rivals Celtic, Spanish side Villareal and Danish Chamions Aalborg. Well it has to be said, this is not such a bad draw aferall. We have to play away in the league after every away CL fixture so it's good to know that the furthest we willl travel is Denmark. One might as well not count the Ibrox fixture as we shall be more or less at home. The most difficult game should be the away fixture at Villareal as they are one of those rejuvenated sides that have a lot to put right in Europe.Robert Pires has already stated made it clear that the yellow Submarines will be no push-overs. United were frustrated home and away by the Spanish outfit two years ago. Celtic should not be so much of a problem but their fans tend to dictate matters on pitch--having said that, the experience of our current squad(unlike 2 years ago) should be able to deal with that. Aalborg eliminated Rangers in the qualifiers, but should not go any further than the group stages. Their only strength will be their underdog status. Sir Alex has already declared that the objective will be 10 points to qualify, but I personally wish we can get more and if possible remain unbeaten in the group stages. Our last 2 European Cup wins were achieved unbeaten so I would really fancy our chances the longer we remain unbeaten. I have to agree with the manager that this team is quite young and therefore is yet to peak. That statement surely does have a provision for a European Cup win----and who knows, it could be this year. COME ON UNITED!
