RONALDO'S REPLACEMENT FOUND....

The Germans, ended Portugal's interest in the European Championships yesterday and simultaneously helped Man Utd fans, and the world at large find out where Christiano Ronaldo will be plying his trade after the summer. The Footballer Of The Year indirectly made it clear that he hoped his dream move to Spain would materialise. All that is left now is to negotiate with Sir Alex and the owners to agree a transfer to Real Madrid(implications of this move have already been discussed on this blog). If there is one player in world football at the moment who i would personally recommend to SAF as a replacement for the Madeira magician, it would be ANDREI ARSHAVIN. The Russian maestro may not be the kind who scores 42 goals in a season, but he can create 42 goals in a season. What bugs me is that its the likes of Newcastle and Man City that are lining up bids for the talented maestro. Arshavin is one of those players who can lift a team single handedly--let alone lift a nation as he did when in the game between Russia and Sweden. The Russian team looked ordinary without him as he was serving a 2 match suspension. He returned just in time to spur his country into the last 8 of Euro 2008. And i wouldn't bet against them making it further. Arshavin is also the reason as to why we now know of a certain team called Zenit St Petersburg. He has inspired the club to a league Championship and a UEFA Cup. SO PLEASE SIR ALEX, SIGN ARSHAVIN.... Manchester United learned about the talent of Christiano Ronaldo the hard way--the kid destroyed United in a club friendly. Sporting Lisbon beat United 3-1. I hope it will be the same story when Manchester United come up against Zenit St Petersburg in the UEFA Super Cup later this year.
